SVG to PNG Export Guide: Prepare Icons and Logos for Fixed Sizes
SVG is the right format for many icons, logos, and interface illustrations, but not every destination accepts vector files. Some apps, email tools, document workflows, and upload forms need a raster image with fixed dimensions.
The SVG to PNG tool converts vector graphics into PNG files locally in the browser. You can create predictable exports while keeping the original SVG for editing and scaling later.
Choose dimensions intentionally
PNG exports are fixed-size images. If you export too small, the image may look blurry when enlarged. If you export too large, the file may be heavier than needed. Decide where the image will appear and export close to that final size.
- Use square sizes for app icons and many profile images.
- Use wider sizes for headers, email graphics, and previews.
- Keep a high-resolution export when the image may be resized later.
Check transparent backgrounds
SVG artwork often assumes transparency. After conversion, preview the PNG on light and dark backgrounds if the destination is unknown. This catches white logos on transparent backgrounds, dark shadows, or missing contrast before upload.
Keep the SVG source
The PNG is a delivery file, not the best editable source. Keep the original SVG in version control or design storage so future size changes can be exported cleanly instead of scaling a raster copy.
